Liposuction

Liposuction is also known as lipoplast, liposuction slims and reshapes specific areas of the body by removing excess fat deposits, improving your body contours and proportion, and ultimately, enhancing your self-image.

Despite good health and a reasonable level of fitness, some people may still have a body with disproportionate contours due to localized fat deposits. These areas may be due to family traits rather than a lack of weight control or fitness.

You are a good candidate for Liposuction if you have localized fat deposits in
Thighs
Hips and buttocks
Abdomen and waist
Upper arms
Back
Inner knee
Chest area
Cheeks, chin and neck
Calves and ankles

In some cases, liposuction is performed alone, in other cases it can be combined with other plastic surgery procedures such as a facelift, breast reduction or a tummy tuck.

The incision
Liposuction is performed through small, inconspicuous incisions. First, sterile liquid solution is infused to reduce bleeding and trauma. Then a thin hollow tube, or cannula, is inserted through these incisions to loosen excess fat using a controlled back and forth motion. The dislodged fat is then suctioned out of the body using a surgical vacuum or syringe attached to the cannula.

Currently, liposuction is the most popular cosmetic surgical procedure. In fact, hundreds of thousands of people are opting for this surgery each year, but now many are looking for safer, less painful alternatives to traditional liposuction. VASER Lipo, or LipoSelection®, is an advanced body contouring procedure that uses ultrasonic technology to selectively remove unwanted body fat while preserving other important tissues like blood vessels, nerves and connective tissue.

In a recent survey, VASER Lipo physicians reported the following procedure benefits:

Smooth contours in all body areas
Improved skin retraction
Minimal patient pain and bruising
Fast patient recovery Problem areas that can be addressed with liposuction:

An alternative to the harsh techniques of traditional liposuction, VASER Lipo uses state-of-the-art ultrasound technology designed to gently reshape your body. Ultrasound is actually sound energy that travels in waves. What makes this approach unique is that these waves can be targeted specifically to fatty tissue. The high-energy waves cause the VASER probe to vibrate and liquefy the fatty tissue on contact. A specially-designed suction device or massage is then used to gently remove the liquefied fat, while preserving the surrounding connective tissue, blood vessels, and nerves. Why is it important to leave these other tissues in place? If blood vessels and nerves aren’t damaged, you experience minimal bruising and pain. Preserving connected tissues enhances healing and promotes good skin retraction. With its minimally-invasive approach, VASER Lipo provides smooth, predictable results and fast patient recovery.

Duration of Surgery: ry: 1-3 hrs depending upon the volume of fat removed.
Hospital Stay: Day Care.

Recovery and Results:
Your improved body contour will be apparent when the swelling and fluid retention commonly experienced following liposuction subside. With continued practices of healthy diet and fitness, the loss of excess fatty tissue should be permanently maintained. However, substantial weight gain can alter an otherwise permanent result.

Once your procedure is completed, a compression garment or elastic bandages may cover treatment areas. These help to control swelling and compress the skin to your new body contours.

In addition, small temporary drains may be placed in existing incisions beneath the skin to remove any excess blood or fluid.
A special note: Secondary procedures may sometimes be recommended to reduce excess skin.
